Job Focus:
- Building tools and frameworks for parallel data extraction and consumption
- Efficient loading tools and APIs that interface with external vendors
- Optimization of data communication into and out of the system
- Optimization and improvements to client connectivity libraries
- Inventing, prototyping and then implementing novel solutions to data transformation inside the database engine
- Contribute to key software architecture decisions
- Design and write enterprise-level, scalable, high-quality software
- Collect critical system requirements
- Write your own unit tests and contribute to QA test plans
- Review documentation and code created by other developers, team members
- Various responsibilities as required for a small company
- Strong problem solver; strong abstract thinker
- Strong programming skills, and extensive experience in writing serious C or C++ code.
- Familiarity with ETL server development and database implementation concepts
- An understanding of parallel and distributed algorithms
- Familiarity with the Unix programming environments and GNU tools.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl or Python
- Must have a BS degree in a technical discipline, preferably CS and 5+ years minimum experience, or a MS degree in a technical discipline, preferably CS, and 2-3 years minimum experience
